Service of Searching for information by using e-catalog Books, journals and guidelines in Mongolian and Japanese languages, Japanese University course materials; audio and video materials are available online. Electronic catalog has opened in March, 2010.

First, you need to register and get a reader’s card. To apply, you need to bring the following materials:
- Application materials for issuing registration:
- Citizen Identity Card (children are expected to bring birth registration card or certificate) - Employment verification or student id card. Secondary school students should bring a verification letter from their school. Unemployed/job-seeking people should bring a letter from their local district office. - Fees: Secondary school students: 1000 tugrug төгрөг Other students: 2000 tugrug
- When to apply:
- Winter term: Monday 14:00 - 16:00 Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 - 14:00 - Summer term: Monday-Friday11:00 - 14:00
The reader’s identity card is valid for a year. It is needed to renew the loan period on books, and it is needed for re-registration each year. New reader’s cards will be issued in blue, and extensions will be in yellow.
- Access procedures for the Reading Hall:
- The number corresponds to a bag box, with a lock and key. The reader puts all personal items into the box and brings the key to library official. All study items should be kept, and not placed into the box. - Place the reader’s identity card in the designated place - The key will be kept by the library official while the reader is in the Reading Hall. Please keep all needed study items with you. - Upon leaving the Reading Hall, please return your number to the library official to get the key to your box. - Empty the box and lock it. - Do not forget your reader’s identity card when you leave the Reading Hall
Note: Power outlets are not available in the Reading Hall. If bringing a laptop computer into the Reading Hall, please ensure that your battery is charged before arriving.

- All books are categorized and number-coded by subject. Search by subject is available.
- 2. Electronic search is available in the counter section of the library
Note: After finishing use of books and materials please put them on the “Return shelf.” Please allow the library staff to re-shelve books.

Due to limited numbers and resources, we only allow the following three categories of books and materials to be loaned. JICA officials and Japanese language teachers are required to pay a fee to borrow the books, materials, video and audio recordings. To use this service, you are required to get a reader’s identity card.
- Number of items to be borrowed: 1 to 3
- Fees: 150 tugrug per item per day
200 tugrug per item per day for materials which are restricted to JICA officials and Japanese language teachers, such as books, materials, training, audio and video recordings, CD, and DVDs
- Required documents: Identity and reader’s identity cards
- Length of loan: 1-5 business days
Note: The loan can only be renewed once.

- Literature - code: 900 - Literature (fiction) - code: P900 - Comics - code: 910
Note:
-JICA officials and Japanese language teachers may borrow materials with any subject code. - Dictionaries are not available for loan.

There are seven computers available for Internet access, which have Japanese, Mongolian, and English fonts.
- When you use the Internet corner, you are required to show your reader’s ID card to the librarian and record the time.
- Fee: 1 hour is 600 tugrug (tallied in 10 minute increments)
- Fee is paid after using the Internet and computer
- Prepaid cards are available. When using the prepaid cards, a 1-hour bonus will be given for every 10 hours of paid use.
Notes:
- Flash memory is not allowed. Removable media like CDs and DVDs are not allowed. - If the use of removable flash memory is necessary, please ask the librarian for assistance before using it. - Use of flash memory is allowed only after it has been checked by the librarian.

Using high technology audio-video facilitation for Japanese language learning and audio-video training materials, cartoons, and drama series can improve your speaking and listening skills. Use of audio-video materials:
- Select a recording from the catalogue
- Write down number of your reader’s identity card and the DVD/VCD recording number, and bring your card to a librarian. There is a 1000 tugrug deposit.
- After you are done with the recording, your deposit will be returned.
- When using training cassettes and records, no deposit is required. Only your reader’s card is needed.
Note: Personal cassettes, DVDs, and VCDs, brought from outside, may not be used in the library.

Reader’s card holders may use Internet and it won’t be paid by minutes.

Internet materials can be printed.
- Book borrowing:
- Literature, fiction, illustrated serials: 150 tugrug per item per day - Japanese language textbooks, CDs, DVDs and training cassettes: 200 tugrug per item per day (only available to JICA officials and Japanese language teachers)
- Copying:
- Black and white А4: 40 tugrug per page - Black and white А3: 80 tugrug per page - Color А4: 600 tugrug per page - Color А3: 1200 tugrug per page
Limited copying from library books and other printed materials is available:
- List the parts you want copied on a "Subscribing Sheet" and bring it to a librarian. - Copying request will be accepted until 15 minutes prior to close. - According to copyright law, no more than 50 pages may be copied from one book. - No more than 3 books may be copied at a time.
Note: Only library books may be copied.

Free information is available for about 200 public and private universities and colleges in Japan.
- The universities and colleges are listed alphabetically. Public institutions are in yellow and private institutions are in white. Their names are listed in both English and Japanese. - The information is updated yearly. - Each folder contains information about the school and an application form for admission. - In the “Information About Studying in Japan” section of the bookshelves, there are reference books on universities and colleges, which are updated every year. |

Our library provides two types of research services.
- Internet Information Search
-When applying for this service, you will fill out a “request sheet” in detail бичиж, тэмдэглэх хэрэгтэй. - We will search for the requested information on the Internet, in Japanese or English language, for 5-7 working days - The library will inform you whether the information requested was found.
Note: There is no translation service for the information found. It will be presented in its original language.
- Information about Studying in Japan
- Applicants for scholarships sponsored by the Japanese government should inquire with the Japanese Embassy in Mongolia for further information. Information is available for about 200 universities and colleges in Japan. - Detailed information about studying in Japan is available on the web page of the Embassy of Japan in Mongolia. Note: The Mongolia-Japan Center is not involved in any application processes for studying in Japan.
